February 19, 2024 //  by Nancy Isarin

The LIFE SWEAP project has launched its third and last survey aiming to assess the assistance industry may need to ensure their waste shipments are legally compliant. This work is part of the key performance indicators of the project. Companies involved in any part of the waste shipment trade are invited to complete this survey until Sunday 31th March 2024.

Previous surveys

Over 150 responses were received from industry representatives on previous surveys. Following an assessment of the responses, the team identified several priority areas where further guidance is needed, including:

  • Plastic waste
  • Green listed waste
  • Allowed levels of contamination

This led to the publication of three guidance fact sheets and a series of online meetings with industry representatives.

Based on the responses to this third survey, new areas might be identified which require further information and guidance for industry – especially in light of the new Regulation on Shipments of Waste which is expected to be published in the spring of 2024.

  • Deadline:  31 March 2024 at 18:00 CET.
